Math Reflection

Image result for pyramid shapeToday I used geometry to make a model of a tent. It was good. I planned to make a tent shaped as a pyramid using paper and glue. I drew a net so I could see the format of things. To make my tent I had to draft it out on paper first then trace it out with the scissors and bring it all together with glue. It went according to plan because each side were equal and everything worked well together.
Next time I would try making it bigger and try making my lines a little bit more straight.

Social Studies Reflection!

Image result for zimbabwe flagIn the past term which is term 2 in social studies, we were learning about the topic Human Rights. Meaning learning about situations, effects, and solutions. We then got assigned into groups who would then study on a certain country based on human right/child labor. My group is formed by Rave, Tauola and myself. We decided to study  Zimbabwe.
We researched some websites and found a lot of stories. Did you know that in Zimbabwe mining activities and begging on the streets is what kids mainly do? Throughout our research, I learned a lot. It shows me that us here with a great family and have the resources we have, we just are more appreciative of the things we have. Cause you never know, on the other side of the world their little kids begging on the street just to survive.

The dark side of Chocolate - Fair Trade

Image result for fair tradeWhen you eat chocolate have you ever just stop to wonder how chocolate was made... really made?

Most kids in Ghana Africa have been through child trafficking. Meaning they are being transported to a harvest to work and make cocoa for chocolate.
Kids from even the age of 9 work for about 12 hours a day and make just 40 cents.
Fair trade represents that the product that they are selling is made with cocoa that is not from child trafficking.

Term 1 Done and Dusted!

As you may know it is officially school holidays.Image result for kids celebrating gif
Which means Term 1 of the year has now finished. I would just like to share with you all my highlights of the term.

Image result for japan gifIn Term 1 I've got to experienced many things for example: I got selected to be one of my school Ambassadors to tour around parents on our Student Achievement Conference day and also a few students who came from Japan this other day. It was an amazing experience because I got to interact with amazing people and teach them something new and also for me to learn something new.

Another highlight for me was going on a math trip with my tutor class and also alongside my math teachers tutor class as well. Our trip was to the
cinemas in Sylvia Park to watch an inspirational movie - Hidden Figures.

What I learnt from this movie is that the colour of our skin doesn't matter. Meaning we may be born different looking but we are all humans. Also that the language of Math is very powerful and useful in life.
To know more I recommend you watch the movie yourself.

That's it for now...but I hope you all have a lovely day and stay safe everyone.

You have a purpose in this world so live to fulfill it.

I just wanted to share with you all,  my personal response about a song and what it means to me. Hope you enjoy! Leave your feedback on what you think.

“Who you are.” Ever questioned yourself asking who you are in front of the mirror or anywhere? Well I’ve been listening to this song by Jessie J called “Who you are.” I like this song and the reason why I like this song is because of the….

….messages, moral and it’s effect that it can have on someone. The lyrics are very powerful. The song starts off with I stare at my reflection in the mirror. Why am I doing this to myself? Losing my mind on a tiny error, I nearly left the real me on the shelf. Words are very powerful, especially in a song. Not many people listen to the lyrics when listening to a song but when I first heard this song it was irresistible.

The title of the song is called Who you are. Some people go through heaps of battle and trials because they mainly don’t know who they are. When people hit rock bottom they question themselves saying that they don’t know who they've become and who they are.

Changes can be a good thing and a bad thing. But, you are the person who chooses if it’s good or bad. The effect you put on yourself can also affect others. They way you value and treat you as well.  The song then goes into the chorus saying Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars!
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing, It's okay not to be okay. Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart. Let’s stop it here for a while. Let’s take another look at the second sentence of the chorus saying “Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing.” It speaks for itself. Seeing is deceiving! But dreaming is believing!

This is what people should keep in mind. Now onto the third sentence, it says “It’s okay not to be okay.” Well, it’s true, very true. You don’t always have to show people that you are doing well, that you don’t go through struggles because everyone does. Everyone goes through problems in life because we are humans. That’s just life.

What I’m going to do next is just skip through some lines to my favorite line of all in the song which says “Brushing my hair-do I look perfect?” Yes. This is the line. It may be simple but it’s what people mainly say to themselves. This line can even cause someone to take their life meaning some people don’t think that there enough, they don’t their perfect enough and etc…..

Life can be hard at times but I believe that the reason you live is because you have a purpose, a purpose to fulfill in this world. You are made the way you are for a reason and the reason is because you are yourself! Your individual self. You are born to be unique and different. You can make a change in the world or you can change the world. Everything starts within yourself. You should keep that in mind.

So to end it off I would just like to say that if you are going through hard times why not take a listen to the song (Who you are - Jessie J). Know that you are beautiful, unique and powerful! You can change the world if you believe in yourself and it’s okay not to be okay! Don’t forget, seeing is deceiving but dreaming is believing.

You have a purpose in this world, so live to fulfill it.
