Rugby is the best!

Rugby is one of New Zealand's most successful sports. The All Blacks our very own rugby team has won the Rugby world cup 3 times and has accomplished many world records. The reason why rugby is the best sport is that this sport can be fun and be challenging at the same time. It requires a lot of strength, mentality, ability, skills and more...

Sports Hero

One reason why I chose to play netball because I got inspired by the silver ferns. I mostly got inspired by Maria Tutaia. I love how she plays and how she shoots. She is a really good example to all the other little ones who also wants to play too. I was lucky enough this year to have met her and watch her play live. She is an inspiration.

Week 3 - Activity 1

~ Netball ~

Netball is one of New Zealand's popular sports. The reason why I choose this sport was because I have been playing netball since I was a year 4 back in primary and the age of 8 for school and still playing now at the age of 13 in High School. The reason why I like to play netball because it's fun. I mainly play the wings meaning Wing Attack (WA) or Wing Defence (WD) and my job is to work the middle court so that the ball plays out the way I want it to. So here's a picture of me and my netball team back in 2014...

I am in the middle with the bib that says WA.

Poem

In week 2 activity 1 of the Summer Learning Journey they asked me to write a poem on how I would feel if I was standing in an airport in a foreign country and had to figure out how to communicate with people in a brand new language. Would I be scared? Would I feel confident?
So here's my poem below to answer their questions...

Germany a wonderful and beautiful country. The reason why I chose this country to study on in the summer holidays was because I am partly German or in other words, I have German blood and also Samoan but I don't know much about my German side. This is one reason why I chose Germany to study and another one is because I think I would really learn a lot.

Summarising Bacteria!

  1. Childhood exposure to bacteria protect against eczema, asthma and other allergies. Exposure to bacteria is good for children. Reason being is that it produces natural antibiotic, acids and hydrogen peroxide which help's protect you against infection. But being over clean can also be a bad thing. Some products can contain toxins that are harmful.

My Olympic Values poster!

Yesterday night my dad and I decided to make an Olympic poster for my Social studies class. It was so much fun especially when my dad makes Women Weekly Magazines. So we scrolled through and fun some pictures that we thought would represent the values of this year's Olympic in Rio. It is Respect, Friendship and Excellence. I can't believe my dad came up with that idea. But I was so thankful for my dad because everyone loved it when I showed them today in period 2.
-Here it is below.....

My Sketch Note!!

In my Social studies class, we have recently been looking and studying about the Olympics. Last week one of our teachers suggested that we try something called Sketch note. Sketch note is an activity that represents what you are feeling, thinking and etc... And the way you display it is throughout hand drawings. So I did one myself.
As you can see I have love hearts which represents friendship. I also have medals on the top right-hand side and on the other side there is a test sheet and also beside the test sheet there is a thinking cloud which is supposed to be a vision of your future. If you look closely you can see a pathway across the whole page.
For me they represent excellence.
And the little star in between the love hearts represents the last value respect.
It was great and fun . I guarantee this is not going to be our last time using sketch note.

Here is my sketch note below.....
